A home listed at $40 million just popped up on Redfin.com within the last 24 hours in Laguna Beach, making it the most expensive home for sale in Laguna.
The address is 2665 Riviera Drive in private community Irvine Cove Albalone Point.
No photos are available yet, but will be within the next 48 hours according to listing agent Rod Daley with Coldwell Banker who only had this to say about the pricey listing: “I think the listing speaks for itself. It’s a beautiful property.”
It’s currently owned by veteran technology executive John Schaefer, according to campaign election records.
The home was designed by Mark Singer, here are some other details:
I will update this post when the photos become available.

LIKE MY DAD SAY’S
TU MUSH MONY…LOL.
Seems to me the recession is only hitting the lower and middle class. 400k property tax - a drop in the bucket for some I guess.
people really think that us typical americans have 40,000,000 to buy a house. make it more resonable so a family can have a nice house that we can afford. not in the getto
Better hurry on this one b4 it’s gone.
But then again, there’s 31 homes in Laguna listed for $10,000,000 or more and in the past year there have been only 2 that sold (and per the MLS there are no pending sales $10,000,000 or above). Could take 15 or more years to sell at current sales rates.
omg! That is the ONLY house by Mark Singer that I care about. Beautiful stone work!!
Meaningless money
1/2 acre
5 bedrooms
big deal
why 40!
crazy
People look at this like is good, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Why will the owners will sell now on such market? Maybe because they know that the market will not ever recover to this prices again or maybe on 40 yrs.
it wont sell for $40 mill, or for $30 mill or for $20 mill.
Asking $40 million and getting it is like asking $100K for a Yugo and getting it.
