County records show that the beachfront home at 106 Emerald Bay was bought by the family trusts of Frank J. Fertitta III and Jill Ann Fertitta.

The buyer is likely the same Frank Fertitta who is a principal owner of the Las Vegas Station Casino as well as the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The sister and brother-in-law of Station Casino owners Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta, Delise and Blake Sartini, currently own an Emerald Bay home five doors down from 106 Emerald Bay. The Sartini’s residence is a five-level, 10,000-square-foot mansion currently under construction. The Fertittas and Sartinis jointly own 27% of the Station Casino stock.

The sale price for 106 Emerald Bay was $28 million, the fifth-highest amount ever paid for an Orange County home. It closed escrow on Monday. The record is $35 million, paid by another Vegas tycoon, Jerry Herbst, to actor Nicolas Cage. Another Emerald Bay house, Crested Wave, sold last year for the county’s second-highest price, $34.5 million.

At $28 million, 106 Emerald Bay’s sale price was nearly $9 million below the original list price and nearly $5 million below the amount listed on the supposed price reported in the Multiple Listing Service.

The house originally went on the market in December for $36.9 million. The price recently was reduced to $32,995,000.

The newly renovated 6,000-square-foot home includes a main residence and separate guest house. Features include an aromatherapy steam shower, state of the art audio/video systems, hidden motorized shades and a pool.

It is one of just 14 homes adjacent to the sand in the private Emerald Bay community, on a street with some of the most valuable homes in Orange County.

This home will be back on the market in a couple of years when Mrs. Fertita figures out the OC Coast is not Florida and she has to keep wearing a sweater after 5 pm most afternoons and it’s really too cool and breezy to have a party overlooking the ocean.

Why oh why do some people get to be filthy rich and others dirt poor?
    (just a sarcastic remark)
Anywho, when the big quake comes all those beach front homes will be under water and my home will be the beach front home,
    enjoy rich ones, enjoy.

Isn’t Fertitta the suspected mob guy who’s father was the basis for one of the characters in the movie Casino?

    • Yes, you are correct, Bill. The father and son team also stole Xyience out from under hundreds of honest shareholders through Fertitta Enterprises, which Frank, Junior still runs.

  • Surprised says:

I was walking by the Strand last night and was wondering if any famous or infamous people have purchased there. Does anyone know?

    Must be nice.

Perhaps that $28 million could help settle some of Station Casino Inc’s debt? Hmm…I wonder why the company is facing bankruptcy?

  • Dave says:

We now know the reason Stations has increased the insurance premium for its employees. Rob the poor and further enrich those that care not for humanity.
